Advantech today announced the availability of a new miniATX motherboard for ATM/Kiosk/POI applications. AIMB-640 is an miniATX form factor motherboard that is also backwards compatible with ATX, Embedded ATX and MicroATX. The miniATX form factor, designed by Advantech, aims to save space by reducing the size of the motherboard while maintaining all its functions and expendabilities, such as robust I/O connections and dual display required by kiosk applications. In comparison with MicroATX form factor, miniATX form factor saves 25% of design space, allowing for reduction in total system size.
