Star Micronics introduces a new speaker/receiver to the diversified and continually growing lineup of dynamic micro speakers. The new speaker/receiver is designed for mobile communications and hand held devices, and is produced lead free. The SCB-13A-LS2 speaker/receiver has 2.5mm thickness and has a flat response curve at high sound pressure level with wide band width. These audio characteristics mean ring tones on mobile communications and hand held devices to be heard with deeper and richer tones. This new product is designed to be multifunctional so not only does it work great as a dynamic speaker but also it also functions as a dynamic receiver within its small size – only 13 mm in diameter. Besides playing back a ring tone when the mobile communications and hand held devices receives a call, the superb playback performance of these speakers can be used for listening to demo music downloaded to cellular phones and other device terminals and for many other new applications. This dynamic speaker/receiver is also available with a gasket to provide assistance in mounting and achieve enhanced sound quality. The SCB-13A-LS2 is on sale in now. Sales for this combination speaker/receiver are expected to exceed 3 million units in the year 2004.
